The Esther Shoes turned Audrey Hepburn
The first time I wore closed Mary Jane flats in the office a week ago, my officemates were deeply disturbed…
1. They were so surprised to know how small I was in stature. Thanks to my trusty ol’ heels I don’t appear to be that little! ;p Honestly, I was more surprised than they were! But more shockingly,
2. They also commented (or, should I say, critiqued) on my “disturbing” black Mary Jane flats (and partly the plain black dress I wore that went all the way down just below my knees). They giggled and started calling me Esther… the Orphan.
So, I decided to find Esther on the net since I didn’t know who she was. Imagine my horror when I saw THIS ->

REALLY NOW, did I really look like her?? HAHA. It’s creepy!
But this got me thinking… I have got to give justice to my shoes! Even though they were hand-me-downs from my dear Aunt, they’re still Salvatore Ferragamo. :) So, I looked them up… and…
Ta-da!

Turns out, this particular style was made for Audrey Hepburn and it’s a classic! The picture here is actually a revival of the one I have. My Mary Jane Audrey Shoes have brown outsoles. I have them in four different colors: black, pearl white, tan and light green. :)
Here’s a pic I got from another shoe blog with the cute Audrey Hepburn in a pixie cut with no other than Salvatore Ferragamo himself. <3
I still love my Mary Jane Audreys even though they’re known to be Esther in the office. :)
Shoes My Boyfie Will Love!
I’m so lucky that I have a boyfriend who adores the same thing I love—Shoes. Whenever our birthdays would come up, we never fail to give each other shoes as gifts. :)
Boat shoes are his thing as of the moment. So I was lookin’ through the net for shoes I could give him for his birthday next month… and I stumbled upon Gucci’s limited edition Icon Temporary Sneaker Collection. Gucci collaborated with Ex-Pat NYC based British DJ Mark Ronson and the concept store launched last month in NYC. It will move to Miami then London and Tokyo in 2010!
It’s not typical Gucci yet it has that classy look to it. The deck shoes was the one that caught my attention and I think it would fit my boyfriend so well! The special Gucci gold and silver dogtags were pretty awesome too.
If only I could, I’d get him the dark blue leather and orange canvass lace-up sneakers ->

I’m sure he’d love this! I’m so sad I couldn’t get it for him :c
You can look at Mark Ronson’s other styles here.
A post dedicated to J. Aldridge
Jane Aldridge is one of my favorite shoe bloggers right now. I was never a fan of reading blogs before until I stumbled upon the blogs of The Sartorialist and hers (Sea of Shoes). Little by little, I found myself checking the website of this talented, young, fashion artist day after day… and that’s how it all started.

(Picture taken from her blog)
There’s just so many things to love about this girl and her blog…
- She’s young and living the life.
- She’s able to mix and match designer and vintage clothing and accessories all too well.
- She has a really cool dad, mom and sister.
- She sort of has a freaky obsession with small plastic toy animals and babies and still gets away with this weirdness.
- She has TONS OF FABULOUS SHOES to showcase which makes her blog really, really, interesting… at least for me. :)
Anyway, you’ll know what I mean if you check out her blog.
So, to Jane Aldridge, thank you for being one of my inspirations. <3
Go to the website of Urban Outfitters and see her very own shoe collection :) You can also follow her in Twitter.

For some reason, I’ve been restless the past few days. The whole blog craze was suddenly getting into me (yeah, I know, I’m a late bloomer!) and I just had to do something about it. The result? my life’s journal. this shoe lovin’ blog.
Why? It’s a way of voicing out my frustrations, my wants and a little bit of my life through my love for shoes. This way I get to share stuff that other people could also relate to.
Oh, to those who are not so crazy about shoes, you might want to checkout my feel good blog, too. <3 candycanesandwhatnots.tumblr.com
